Busy, busy…

It has been a crazy whirlwind fall and winter. There have been family health issues, a trip to Germany and Belgium, a trip to Minnesota, a cancelled trip to Dallas, three holiday sales/shows, the whole holiday craziness, and then a round of the winter blahs. But I’m back with lots of things to report. In all that craziness there was still time to bead. Somewhere along the way I lost my knitting mojo, but it will come back around again I’m sure.
I made my best attempt at beading something everyday during the month of January. It started off well, but I was derailed by a stomach bug that knocked me out for a week. But the attempt has certainly motivated me to keep doing a little beading everyday even if it is not finishing something in particular. Here are a few of the things I got done before being knocked flat. These are a freebie “pattern” available at Marcia DeCoster’s blog. I say “pattern” because there isn’t really one, she just tells you how she made them. If you know cubic right angle weave, they are a snap. I have made 5 or 6 pairs so far…
I especially like these pink ones. I also made some and left them as loose beaded beads. Their fate has not yet been decided.

So far this year has been heavy on the sparkles, but I suppose that’s what you need in the bleak of winter sometimes. These were a repair job for a friend who purchased them, dropped them, then found them with tire tracks across them later. Those little beaded beads are surprisingly sturdy. The thread only broke in one spot. I ended up having to re-make both of them because I couldn’t find the original size 15’s that I used, but they were quick.
I have loads of other things to show you, but I don’t want to give your browser a brain cramp with all these photos. I have a few recently finished UFOs and a bunch of things from the Candie Cooper workshop I took last weekend.
