The new phone books are here!

Not phone books actually, but the new Lark Showcase 500 series book Beaded Jewelry arrived on my doorstep earlier this week.    It’s an absolutely stunning book.  ( 50 points to the person who guesses my phone book reference.)Ray Hemachandra did an excellent job of curating this collection of beaded things.  He has great taste.    I especially liked page 135. I am thrilled to see the piece that Camille and I worked on in print.   The book is much prettier than my photo.   You can pick up your own copy here.  If you love beads or even just like them, this is a fabulous book to add to your collection.  The pieces in this book will inspire you to create a million different things.   I already have about 10 different projects percolating in my brain from just my initial look through.   I need about a week to just pour over the book and drool.

Alas, I am in the throes of applying to teach at the Bead and Button Show, and there is no time for lounging with a book.    I have seven samples ready to go, one set of instructions left to write and 6 sets of instructions left to illustrate. And pictures to take.   Eeek.    I leave for bead camp next Thursday. I plan to get everything done before I leave.  Who needs sleep?

One of the classes I am taking at Sievers is all about buttons.  I have been collecting them through out the summer.   Here are some photos from my last acquisition. JoAnns has terrific boxes of buttons for $5.99 in the notions section.  They were even 40% off this week.   Here’s what came in the box…

A rainbow of pretties. I love that swirly black one near the top.   I can’t wait to start using these buttons.   I’ve got big plans for the purple ones and the sparkly transparent ones. I’ll be sure to post pictures when I have finished pieces.    For now it’s back to work.   Hopefully the snoozy cat has moved off of my notebook so that I can resume the instruction writing.
