The challenge for day 14 was to take apart unwanted jewelry and reuse the beads.   I have a pretty big box of hand me down jewelry from assorted people.  A lot of it is rather uninspiring.   But I found a few things that piqued my interest.     I bought this necklace at an antique shop a while ago.   I liked the little shell beads.  It was a really short choker length.  It might even have been a kid’s necklace.  Since this salmon-y orange color is the hot thing right now, these beads seemed like the perfect candidate for this project.   I thought I would just pop some of these beads on to some hoops and call it a day.   Well, that didn’t work. Since I still needed to make some earrings for the day, it was on to the next piece. I found these little turquoise birds in a bag of stuff I got after Stephen’s mom passed away.   I assume that they were earrings before or that she had found the beads and wanted to make earrings since there were only two of them.     I added some sterling beads, green turquoise chips, and a coral Swarovski pearl.    I love them.   I think Aurelia would approve.   I am definitely keeping this pair.   But I will keep my eye out for more turquoise birds.
